Śrī Viṣṇu went to a remote island and engaged himself in a veneration of Gaṇeśa. He pleased Vināyaka with the mantra. After Vināyaka gave him a desired boon, Śrī Viṣṇu built a temple of Vināyaka on the hill and installed a Gandaki stone idol of Śrī Gajanana. Śrī Viṣṇu attained Siddhi on this hill it is named as Siddhakshtra or Siddhatek and Vināyaka blessed him thus named Siddhivināyaka. This is the land sanctified by the penance of Viṣṇu and the abode of Siddhivināyaka.
